Builders there all weekend!

Builders working hard over the weekend to move the job along quicker which is great to see. They were working on installing all the internal doors and arch's around the windows and doors internally. Really starting to look more finished! Showers have also had the base's sealed in both bathrooms.

Kitchen and Bathroom

Island bench - gap for the dishwasher and sink. We are having stone benches that also go down each side of the island bench. Cupboards over the fridge we added in as an extra upgrade. Purchased our dishwasher this weekend which we will put in ourselves.

Island Bench - cupboards facing the dining room. The stone will hang over so that stools can go under the bench.

Stove will sit in gap - cabinets will be installed above and these wont have handles. We have opted to not have any handles put on by metricon and will install ourselves after handover as we didn't really like any on offer.

Cabinets In! 5th November

Went around to the house on Thursday night to bump into our SS working quite late. Was great timing in that we got to run through a few minor issues we wanted fixed before they continued on much further. One in particular was a issue we picked up this week - Our laundry was 30mm out in width and therefore the gap that would be left in the laundry for the washer and dryer wouldn't be enough! leaving us with a major issue.

friday the cabinets were being installed so best case was to get them to cut down the cupboard at installation! Luckily this wasn't such a big deal and was done. Benches and sink also went in on Friday.

Progress made today was visually more then any other day - Plasterer did the last sand in preparation for painting, painter kept working on staining the doors and windows, bathrooms, laundry and kitchen all installed, bench in pantry installed.

The good news was that our SS is confident that with the current plan that we will be in before Christmas!!! While we are not holding our breath it is looking possible especially after the weekend.

Upstairs Plaster Finished 31st October

All cornice upstairs complete - think the only thing to happen is some sanding and finishing before they are clear to paint. Skirting and edges around the doors and windows need to also go in. In hindsight we should have got the square edge in our master bedroom as would have been much better!

30th October - Stairs in , Nice surprise

After work went around to check out the plaster progress to find they had installed the stairs. The hand rails were then installed on Saturday. One guy there all weekend putting in the cornice upstairs and in the downstairs laundry and toilet. We are having square edge in all the other rooms downstairs.
Very pleased with the stair upgrade and with the addition of the big window makes it a really nice space. The window definitely has been a great purchase and would totally recommend everyone to put it in.

Plaster Finished - 23rd october

All the plaster has been hung. Some photos of the downstairs area, back lounge, dining and front lounge. So far looking good and they seem to have done a very neat job!

21st October - plaster started !

Glad to see the plaster started. Can now get a full feel for each of the rooms. Plasterer should be here for around 8 days apparently and then someone different will come in and do the cornice up stairs. We have paid extra to have square edge on the downstairs rooms... very glad as they will feel larger with this method and looks a lot more modern.

garage roof is still not on ! someone stole the colourbond that was left out the back for it so gather they now have to re order!

We have also got 3 crates of bricks left over- hopefully these will be allowed to stay so that we can use those for the pillars that we want to build in the front garden.

Scafolding down ! looks like a house - 16th October

Scaffolding came down today! Any very pleased with the progress so far. Painter has done most of the outside painting except the back weatherboards. Builders have been back to put the weatherboard on the back this week so the house is mostly weather proof except for the garage.

Love how the big window at the stairs looks from the outside. Look forward to seeing it in the stairwell.

Walk on the beach !

Our neighbours dog! very large.

10th October - Summer is here

Summer was present today in all its beauty and what better place to live them by the beach! Checked out the house and the painter had already made progress on the windows and the weatherboard. Then a beautiful walk along the beach. Ran into our new neighbours walking there dog - was a stunning sunset! the very reason we love where we are building- few minutes and on the sand!

So far happy with the colour and house starting to look a little more complete- finally getting there.

8th October - weatherboards on!

Outside Weatherboards installed today - very pleased with how it all looks and coming along. Front of the house done today. Back yet to be done.
