Summer is coming!

Tonight went for a walk on the beach after looking at the house. Was absolutely beautiful down there - pristine. So glad it is only a short walk from our front door!

Bricks!!

Went around tonight to find that 1/2 bottom floor had been completed - after a lot of delays they finally had a good day to make a start.
Must have had a lot of people on the job to get that much done.

Brick colour is not great but we are rendering the whole house. We also have some weatherboard on the second floor.

Can also see the roof colourbond colour - surf mist which we are pleased with. Most people in the estate have gone with Charcoal so nice to be different.

Colour Bond on!!

Finally after a lot of delays mostly due to weather we have a roof! Most of it done in one day. They just have the back room and outdoor room to complete.
Went around late tonight to have a quick look- hence sorry but no photos. It is very white! we have gone with surfmist so will be good to see in the daylight. We plan on rendering the whole house in a mix of dark and light colours so should be ok.

The brickies are due to start on Wednesday and apparently will have half the house done in 3-4 days! After thinking that nothing would get done this week glad to see some progress.

Our doors in the back continue to be a saga! They have been to fix the handles..they were supposed to remove the standard big plastic ones that come on the doors and leave it for Metricon to install the flush handles but instead the idiots replaced it with exactly the same thing!!! yes no brains. So now they have to come back and do it all again and the parts they missed.

Will update with some photos on the weekend.

NO Progress - excpet a progress payment!

After a week on consistently bad weather in Melbourne, the result is no progress on the house.
The roof was supposed to go on this week however in fairness would have been difficult to get a day that was safe to do so.
The frame was however passed by the inspector and we received another invoice for the Frame stage!
Hopefully giving them some money will help to find a brickie. Metricon apparently struggling to get a brickie to start our job due to a bit of shortage in supply.

Only a Little bit of progress

The last week we didn't see a huge change however they had been on site fixing all the frame issues that had been picked up in inspections.
Plumbing in bathrooms was all put in upstairs.

Finally we had our windows at the back lowered to the ground which amazingly has made a huge difference. Glad we pushed this point. Front door frame was installed and the roof over the garage was put in by some keen builders on saturday.

Fingers crossed that we get a roof and some brickwork starting this week!
